This is not going to give protection to your laptop from a laborious fall, but it will protect it from the put on and tear that's inevitable with daily (for me, nearly 24/7) use. It keeps the floor of my laptop scratch-free, and supplys a good grip on table surfaces, etc. Usually the aluminum unibody Macbook Pros are so slippery, but the Speck case maintains my laptop from struggling irrevocable damage from slipping and sliding. I docked a star as a result of on occasion, after I am using my laptop fairly intensively, the addition of the plastic case makes the pc run slightly hotter than it does without the case; besides, my CPU temp has never surpassed 120F.

When we get a new one, we instantly put a SPEK cover on it and when it can be time for it to "move on" to the following owner, it seems to be brand new. We can get high buck for our very used (but now not abused) computers due to SPEK!! One of my sons was once within the military; he took his laptop on deployment to Iraq. When he received back, the "guts" needed some repair.
